In 1993 a group of local Rotarians started thinking about an event that would raise funds to use for projects and grants to give back to community organizations. The plans were to provide great meals, great music, lots of fun.
The Neenah Rotary Club and Menasha Rotary Club hosted the first Seafood Fest in the summer of 1994. Much planning, preparation and work went into the first Seafood Fest. Year one proved to be a tough year with torrential rains and very little profit being made. With the first year completed many changes were made how the event was setup and organized, Year two proved to be a wonderful success as large crowds came and the community started to embrace Seafood Fest.
Through the years there have been many changes to improve the layout and menu, one of the biggest changes came after another wet weekend in 2003, when the bands could not play either night. After much careful planning 2004 saw a new layout that included a huge tent to house the band and larger food tents. Seafood Fest now goes on Rain or Shine.
Seafood Fest has been a popular destination for many since it's humble beginnings in 1994. The event has been going every year since then. After 2010 Seafood Fest, the 17 years will have raised nearly $500,000 to give back to the community.
We give a big thanks to all that volunteer any amount of the thousands of hours it takes to run the event !
This year the newly formed Fox Cities Morning Rotary Club will join with the other 2 clubs in hosting Seafood Fest.
Please join us September 9th & 10th and see why so many people enjoy and plan on coming to Seafood Fest every year!
